OptiPure® GSX-24® is a standardized extract obtained from the leaves of the Gymnema sylvestre plant. This plant is native to the tropical forests of central and southern India, and has a long history of use in Ayurvedic medicine as a treatment for diabetes. Its name was obtained from the Indian word gumar, meaning “destroyer of sugar.” When the leaves are chewed, they interfere with the mouth’s ability to detect sweet tastes.
